Practice Puzzle Instructions
Below are the practice puzzles, the possible answers sheet, and a map.
Use the map and information contained in the puzzle images to solve each puzzle. How will you know if you have the right answer? The answer to each puzzle (except the final End Game!) is a number. If you get the correct number, it will correspond with one of the numbers on the possible answers image. If you think you’ve solved a puzzle, but the number is not on the answers page, you don’t have the right answer.
Practice Puzzle Map
On the day of the Hunt you’ll be given a map of downtown Charlottesville. The map will tell you where the puzzles are located and give you key information. In this practice version, you won’t use this map for navigation. However, you will need it to solve some of the practice puzzles.
The answer to each puzzle (except the final End Game!) is a number. If you get the correct number, it will correspond with one of the numbers listed below. If you think you’ve solved a puzzle, but the number is not here, you don’t have the right answer. Each number has a clue that goes with it. Make a note of the clue that corresponds with your answers. You’ll need it later!

End Game Clue!
The end game is here! This final puzzle is different than the first three. To solve it, combine this new clue (below) with the clues you got from solving the three initial puzzles. Then, use this information to answer the question: “Where does the Puzzle Master want to go on vacation?”
Unlike our earlier puzzles, the answer to the End Game is not a number. In the in real Cville Puzzle Hunt, it will be a task or an action that your team needs to perform. The first team to complete it is our winner. Obviously, the practice puzzle isn’t timed. But feel free to DM us on Twitter (@cville_puzzle) with the answer!
